This was during February. Whales pass by sometime after Christmas, making their annual migratory trek through the Caribbean. You can see them in the distance surfacing, they look like black volkies rising. Their spouting looks like smoke rising from the water. I used to chase them in my younger days. What man doesn't chase when he's young?
These were taken with one of those Kodak underwater throw-away-cameras. I only had a few shots, and often I could never get close enough to get a shot. Sometimes whales popped up and I'd fumble and couldn't shoot.

Straight ahead is Villa Orleans.
You can see humpbacks often roll around and play in the water.
The whale below went right under my kayak.

I don't chase whales anymore. I'm not in shape, and my wife badgers me when I've tried. I guess I have to leave it for the younger folks.
