Secret Garden Art Gallery first opened its doors in 1997. The idea was to create a place where local artists could exhibit and sell their art. At the time Rincon did not have a venue for artists to exhibit so the response was overwhelming. Artists of all styles came out of the woodwork. The gallery remained open until 1999 when artist/owner Roberto Ortiz relocated to his home town of New Orleans. After the devastation of hurricane Katrina in 2005 Roberto Ortiz returned to Puerto Rico and in 2007 the art gallery was reopened. The trees have grown larger and the gardens are flourishing and the Secret Garden Art Gallery continues to grow and prosper as well.
